Ghana’s Thomas Partey has been left out of Atletico Madrid’s squad for their opening UEFA Champions League group stage match away to PSV Eindhoven in midweek.
The 23-year-old Black Stars player was left out of a 19-man travelling party by coach Diego Simeone, though he remains a part of Atletico’s overall squad for the European competition.
Partey has now been left out of four matchday squads for Atletico so far this season, with Simeone seemingly losing faith in the West African.
Partey played a role in helping the Madrid side reach the final of the Champions League last season, regularly appearing in their matches as a substitute.
