CR Belouizdad qualified for the 2020/21 CAF Champions League quarter-finals after defeating Mamelodi Sundowns on Friday afternoon.

The Algerian side secured a 2-0 win over South African champions Sundowns in a Group B match at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.

The win saw Belouizdad qualify for the quarter-finals as Group B runners-up, while Sundowns, had already qualified for the knockout phase as group winners.

Meanwhile, TP Mazembe claimed a 2-1 win over Al Hilal in another Group B match at the Stade TP Mazembe in Lubumbashi.

As a result, DR Congolese giants Mazembe finish third in Group B standings, while Sudanese side Al Hilal slipped down to the fourth spot and both teams failed to qualify for the last eight.

CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUPS

At the Salam Stadium in Cairo, Al Ahly claimed a 1-0 win over Simba SC in a Group A match.

Therefore, Egyptian champions Al Ahly ended their group stage campaign on position two behind Group winners, Simba of Tanzania with both teams having already secured their places in the quarter-finals.

Lastly, Al Vita Club defeated Al Merrikh 3-1 in a Group A match at the Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa.

The result saw Vita Club and Al Merrikh finished third and fourth respectively on the standings having both failed to qualify.
