Nigeria internationals Wilfried Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho were not as sharp as they were against Manchester United just before the international break.

This is according to Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers after the Foxes were beaten 2-0 by Manchester City in an English Premiership match on Saturday.

It was Leicester’s maiden competitive game since they thrashed Manchester United 3-1 in the FA Cup match on March 21 with Iheanacho grabbing two goals and an assist.

Rodgers disclosed that the Super Eagles duo of Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho returned to England from Nigeria on Thursday night and they only joined the Leicester squad on Friday.

“We’ll have a good week next week, we’ll have all the players back from international duty,” Rodgers said on All Nigeria Soccer.

“You know the likes of Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi, they are back late Thursday night from Nigeria and lots of travel, a lot of the international players playing a lot of games.

“And we probably weren’t as sharp as what we’ve been in our last game here against Manchester United.”

Iheanacho and Ndidi were substituted in the 72nd and 83rd minute respectively in Leicester’s defeat to Manchester City.

They will be looking to help Leicester return to winning ways when they face West Ham United on April 11.
