Legendary Ghanaian goalkeeper Richard Kingson is keen to coach Spanish football powerhouse, FC Barcelona in the future.

The 42-year-old, who retired from professional in 2015, led Ghanaian third-tier side Emmanuel FC to clinch the inaugural Jordan Anagblah Cup in 2019.

Kingson is now serving as a goalkeeper coach at Ghanaian Premier League giants Hearts of Oak, but he has bigger ambitions.

The Accra-born legend also stated that handling the Ghanaian national team, the Black Stars would be like coaching a Division One or Two side in Ghana.

“Not that I have what it takes, we all know it, and after my two years service with the Black Stars, we all saw it,” Kingson said on Pulse.

“Coaching Black Stars is something like coaching 2nd or 3rd division.

“I want to coach Barcelona because I know I have what It takes to do it, so coaching Black Stars is not like something extraordinary.”

Kingson, who has in the past been part of Ghana’s technical team as a goalkeeper coach, had a long career playing in Europe and also played in the 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cups.

He turned out for Turkish giants Galatasaray, before going on to play for Birmingham City, Wigan Athletic and Blackpool FC in the English Premier League.
