Odion Ighalo continued his goal scoring run in the FA Cup as Manchester United booked their place in the semi finals of the competition.

The Nigeria international scored a brace in a 3-0 win over Derby County earlier this year and added another to his tally as the Red Devils beat Norwich City 2-1 after extra-time on Saturday.

Ighalo featured in the full 120 minutes and played a part in the winner as United overcame a plucky Canaries outfit and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reserved special praise for the 31-year-old forward following the final whistle.

“It is great to have the option to rotate,” Solskjaer told BBC Sport as reported by Goal.com.

“Anthony Martial came on and did brilliantly, but Odion gives me a chance to rotate.

“He’s a proven goalscorer and played his part in both goals,” the Norwegian coach continued. “He is a great person to have around the dressing room too.

“Odion knows how much we value him in and around the dressing room; he’s a goalscorer, a poacher, he’s strong, we can play the ball into him, he showed for the second and Paul [Pogba] found him.”
