Bloemfontein Celtic and AmaZulu FC recorded victories in the DStv Premiership on Sunday afternoon.

Celtic ended their five-match winless run in the league after claiming a 2-1 victory over TS Galaxy at the Dr Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein.

Menzi Masuku opened the scoring in the 13th minute to hand Celtic a 1-0 lead from the spot-kick after the hosts were awarded a penalty.

Galaxy managed to level matters through Mlungisi Mbunjana, who made it 1-1 just before half-time and it was the 30-year-old midfielder’s maiden goal of the season.

However, Victor Letsoalo’s second-half goal earned Celtic a 2-1 win and they moved up to 10th place on the standings, while Galaxy remained eighth on the log.

Meanwhile, AmaZulu FC made it five wins in a row when they edged out Black Leopards 1-0 at the Thohoyandou Stadium in Limpopo.

The only goal of the match was netted by Siyethembe Sithebe in the second-half and it was his second goal of the campaign.

The win saw AmaZulu climb up to third place on the standings – three points behind leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns and Leopards remained 16th on the log.
