Salomon Kalou has become the latest Ivorian linked with a surprise move to Brazil.

According to Fogaonet, the former Chelsea forward is open to joining Botafogo.

The Rio de Janeiro-based club were linked with a move for Yaya Toure earlier this year, but the Manchestester City legend remains without a club and recent reports suggest he will join Vasco da Gama in the new year instead.

Kalou is officially a free agent after leaving Hertha Berlin at the expiry of the contract last month.

The 34-year-old scored 53 goals in 173 appearances for the German club who he joined from Lille six years ago.

Kalou is best known for the time he spent in London where he helped the Blues to nine trophies.

He was also part of the Elephants team that won the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
