Rangers defender Etim Matthew has said they will not take anything for granted at home against El Kanemi on Sunday so as to be crowned Nigeria champions after 32 long years.

“As a team we are determined to finish the season on a high by winning our last game in front of our home fans,” said Matthew, whose family will come from Uyo to cheer him to an historic victory.

“According to one of the coaches we don’t want to take chances that is why we are giving you our best before the last match.

“We are training as if we are in pre-season, the intensity of the training and sense of seriousness from the coaching crew is something else.

“Everywhere is charged and the people of Enugu can’t wait for Sunday to come for the celebrations to begin.”

On the orders of Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the gates to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu has been thrown open so that fans will be very much a part of the coronation of ‘The Flying Antelopes’ as Nigeria champions again.
