AZ Alkmaar forward Oussama Idrissi says he has yet to make a final decision in regards to his international switch to Morocco.

The Dutch-born forward has represented the European nation at junior level, but his Moroccan heritage and the fact that he has yet to appear for the full Oranje team makes him eligible to play for the North African nation.

And he was named on a 26-man squad by Morocco manager Herve Renard last weekend. The Atlas Lions are preparing to face Cameroon in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on November 16.

Idrissi says he is happy to be invited by Morocco but has not fully made up his mind, revealing that he plans to have discussions – presumably with Renard and/or the technical team – before deciding on a course of action.

“I’m yet to make a choice for now,” Idrissi said in a video on his club AZ Alkmaar’s website

“I have not received a call up from the Dutch A team, and now Morocco is coming to the door, it’s my homeland, so it’s very special and beautiful, I’m very happy about it.

“I’m going to Morocco to have a conversation and see how it goes. I’m proud and honoured to receive an invitation. I could choose later.”

The former Groningen player has scored eight goals in 15 appearances in all competitions so far this season. He will hope to continued his form when AZ take on ADE Den Haag in an Eredivisie match on Sunday afternoon.
