Pitso Mosimane has tipped Benni McCarthy as a future head coach of Bafana Bafana.

McCarthy has continued to thrive as the head coach of Cape Town City, having led the club to MTN8 success at the start of the season, the Citizens are part of several teams in contention for Absa Premiership and are also in the quarterfinals of the Nedbank Cup.

City next face the Brazilians at Loftus Stadium on Wednesday evening, having won on their two previous trips to the venue in the heart of Tshwane.

The Cape club currently occupy fourth spot on the log standings, three points and a place behind Sundowns who have played a game less than their counterparts.

“Cape Town City is a good team. Benni shows that he wants it, he puts his skin on it. He is serious, he wants it. I see a future Bafana coach,” Mosimane said.

City’s league chances hinge on what happens in their next three matches. After Wednesday’s trip to the champions, they face top of the table Bidvest Wits before hosting Sundowns in the Mother City.
