The Nigeria Olympic star opened scoring before home team Lommel pegged back Roeselare, who went on to grab the winning goal in the second half.

The win lifted Roeselare off the foot of the table with five points from as many matches, while Lommel stay in second place on eight points.

“It was important to win this game,” said a relieved Saviour.

“We worked hard in the second half after we came under a lot of pressure in the first half.”

He said he is excited to propel the Belgian second division club to their first win of the season on Sunday.

“It was great to score the goal as it will further boost my confidence,” said the 20-year-old forward, who last season played on loan at Belgian top league club KV Oostende.

“The team believe in my quality.

“Now I wish to do even more in a very competitive second division.”

Saviour, who has represented Nigeria at U17, U20 and Olympic team levels, scored the first goal after 28 minutes, when he controlled a loose ball, turned sharply before he fired into the roof of the net from inside the six-yard box.

Lommel then drew level seven minutes, before Roeselare grabbed the match winner on the hour.

Last week, Saviour made his debut in a 4-1 thrashing at Tubize.

On Saturday, they will be home to Cercle Brugge.
