Chippa United and Polokwane City had to settle for a share of the spoils as they played to a pulsating 2-2 draw in an Absa Premiership clash at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Friday evening.

The point moves the Chilli Boys out of the relegation zone and up to 13th spot on the log standings while Rise and Shine squandered the chance to move up to second place, but do shift up one spot to third.

Following an eventful half that produced no goals, the opener finally came three minutes after the break as Ayanda Nkili powered an unstoppable header past Daniel Akpeyi who could only stand and watch the ball fly into the back of the net.

Chippa hit back in the 58th minute through Rhulani Manzini who netted his second goal in as many matches. The forward finishing with aplomb following a pin-point cross by Andile Mbenyane.

Rise and Shine restored their lead in the 79th minute thanks to a deflected effort from Rodney Ramagalela and looked on course for all three points.

Mark Mayambela, though, rescued a point for the desperate Chilli Boys in the second minute of added time. The wing-wizard arrowing a left-footed shot into the roof of the net following good work down the left flank by Thabo Rakhale.
