Golden Arrows will aim to close in on the top of the DStv Premiership log when they face Swallows FC in one of five top-flight matches played across South Africa on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 April.

Abafana Bes’thende can close to within a point of leaders Mamelodi Sundowns (who will be in CAF Champions League action) if they can defeat the Birds (who have gone eight league games without a win) at Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

“There are aspects in our game that we must improve. We are not as clinical [as we should be] in front of goal. For the number of chances that we create I think we should be scoring more,” said Arrows coach Mandla Ncikazi.

“We do also appreciate that the team are the best scorers currently‚ along with Cape Town City‚ on 30 goals. We would love to decrease a bit in conceding. If we are No 1 in scoring we would love to be No 1 defensively.”

The weekend also features a relegation six-pointer between Maritzburg United and Chippa United at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday evening – with both teams looking to add their one-point buffer over the playoff spot – as well as Cape Town City looking to break a seven-game winless streak when they host Baroka FC.

Sunday sees Bloemfontein Celtic aiming to end a five-game winless run when they welcome TS Galaxy to the ‘City of Roses’, while the Premiership’s form team, AmaZulu, will look to add to the woes of bottom-of-the-log Black Leopards when the clubs clash at Thohoyandou Stadium.
