Ghana attacker Andre Ayew is set to return from his injury later this month, handing the Black Stars a massive boost ahead of their 2018 World Cup qualifier with Egypt in November.

The 26-year-old player has been sidelined since picking up a thigh injury on his debut for West Ham United in August, but he has responded well to treatment and is expected to return in less than three weeks’ time.

Ayew was initially expected to be out until late November or early December, but West Ham co-owner David Gold has revealed that Ayew will be back sooner than expected.

This means the Black Stars man should be back for the Hammers’ home clash with Sunderland on October 22.

Ayew’s recovery will not be in time for Ghana’s opening Group E 2018 World Cup qualifier against Uganda this coming weekend, but it does mean he will be available for the match away to Egypt on November 13.
