Thailand midfielder Chanathip Songkrasin to join Consadole Sapporo on loan
Thailand national team midfielder Chanathip Songkrasin has agreed to sign a one-and-a-half year loan deal to play for Japanese side Consadole Sapporo, according to reports.
The 23-year-old footballer has long been considered as one of the brightest prospects in Southeast Asian football scene. He was a key contributor to Thailand’s back-to-back titles at the regional tournament AFF Suzuki Cup, and also won the best player award on both occasions.
According to reports, Chanathip will be presented at Consadole Sapporo on January 27th, 2017, before heading back to his club Muangthong United to play in the upcoming Thai League season. He will officially join Consadole Sapporo in July 2017.
The details of the contract were not disclosed, but according to local newspapers, the newly-promoted Japanese club has agreed to part ways with $500.000 to sign him on loan, with an option to buy.
