Selangor might pull out of 2017 Malaysia Super League
Malaysian club Selangor FA has announced their possible exit from the domestic league ahead of the 2017 season.
Citing funding problems, Selangor vice-president Datuk Subahan Kamal told local newspapers that the club is considering pulling out of the league.
“Without funds, it will be difficult for us to continue. If there are no funds, we are considering the possibility of pulling out of the league,” he said.
Selangor could the second club to pull out of the Malaysia Super League, following Kelantan – who according to reports – have failed to find funds for the 2017 season.
Kelantan’s board of directors will confirm their league status on December 29 after a general meeting.
