Blaise Matuidi’s agent, Mino Raiola, could attempt to push through a transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to Juventus during the winter window.

Matuidi, 29, was reportedly close to joining Juve during the summer only to eventually stay at PSG where club president Nasser Al Khelaifi suggested the France international midfielder would even extend his contract beyond its current expiry in 2018.

However, there has been no official announcement on that deal, and Raiola told Rai that Juve should not lose hope of getting their man in the winter.

“Fabio Paratici [Juve’s sporting director] should not be angry with me because we’re not negotiating a contract extension,” Raiola said.

“It’s not easy to get players to leave PSG in January, but if there is a possibility, we’ll see.”

With PSG coach Unai Emery switching from the 4-3-3 formation the French champions have used in recent seasons to a 4-2-3-1, Matuidi has seen his first-team opportunities limited, making just three starts in seven league appearances.
