The summer transfer window won’t reopen in Europe for a while yet, but there are plenty of moves in the works and gossip swirling around. Transfer Talk brings you all the latest buzz on rumours, comings, goings and, of course, done deals!

TOP STORY: Clause in Bremer’s contract could allow him to leave Juve

There is a clause in Gleison Bremer‘s contract that could allow the centre-back to leave Juventus in 2025 amid interest from Manchester United, as has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Red Devils have been interested in the 27-year-old for some time, although that didn’t result in negotiations towards the end of the January transfer window as Juventus wouldn’t have had time to sign a replacement for their defence.

Bremer is seen as a key part of Massimiliano Allegri’s defence for now, although his extended contract lasting until 2028 doesn’t necessarily mean that he will stay that long.

A clause in that contract, which comes into action in the summer of 2025, will allow the Brazil international to leave for €60 million to €70 million, based on the size of the English club that tries to bring him in.

This clause was included in the contract to help bring the current costs down to make it fit within their budget, but he could be kept with the club with a salary increase of €500,000.

Bremer would like to play in the Premier League at some point in his career but is in no rush to leave Juventus, as signified when he turned down an approach from Tottenham Hotspur.

PAPER GOSSIP

Manchester City could renew their interest in West Ham United midfielder Lucas Paquetá, reports The Guardian, with the Citizens’ move last summer falling through because of the Football Association’s investigation into alleged betting breaches. The 26-year-old has a release clause worth £85m that will become active in June, and Man City are likely to take advantage as long as the investigation has come to an end.

Napoli have entered the race to sign Torino centre-back Alessandro Buongiorno but face competition from AC Milan, Internazionale, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich, reports Calciomercato. The 24-year-old has already stated that he wants a summer move to play UEFA Champions League football, while Il Toro are demanding at least €40m.

Chelsea are one of the clubs that continue to follow Palmeiras winger Estevão Willian, who is also known as Messinho, reports Fabrizio Romano. This comes after Paris Saint-Germain had an offer worth €90m for the 16-year-old and Endrick rejected in 2022. Messinho has scored against Uruguayan club Liverpool on his first senior start.

– Juventus are working in advance to secure the signing of Monza goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio, reports Calciomercato. The plan is for the 26-year-old to spend the first year as backup to Wojciech Szczęsny before becoming the No. 1 goalkeeper — although he could come straight in as first choice if a big offer comes in for the Poland international. Internazionale and Roma have also been linked with Di Gregorio.

Fulham, Sheffield United, Southampton and Queens Park Rangers are all looking to make a move for Rangers forward Kemar Roofe, according to Football Insider. The 31-year-old’s contract at Ibrox comes to an end in the summer, making him available as a free agent.
