Why a shocking Mauricio Pochettino statistic will worry Tottenham Hotspur fans this season
Mauricio Pochettino and his Tottenham side were lucky to escape with a point from the north London derby on Sunday.
Despite taking a 2-0 lead at the Emirates, Spurs found themselves on the back foot for most of the second half and Arsenal had chances to win 3-2.
It will perhaps be seen as a good point for Spurs added to the draw against Manchester City with in the second game of the season.
On that occasion, VAR had to come to their rescue to rule out a late Gabriel Jesus winner because of a handball in the build-up.
This was an improvement on the same fixtures last season, where they lost both.
Pochettino, though, has an atrocious record away from home against the ‘big six’ teams.
Since he took over in 2014, he has won just three of 27 matches against Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea.
Of those 27 games, he also only drew nine and lost a staggering 15.
From a total of 81 points on offer, he has only taken 18.
If Tottenham harbour any hopes of winning the Premier League title, then Spurs will have to do better away from home against their rivals.
Here is a season-by-season guide on how Pochettino has fared against the ‘big six’ away from home.
