‘God save the King’ – Newcastle star Joelinton ‘spotted’ at Glastonbury
Joelinton is adored by Newcastle fans – so much so that he’s even been honoured with a special Glastonbury flag.
Images on social media have been shared of the flag at Worthy Farm that pays homage to the midfielder.
It features Joelinton’s head superimposed onto King Charles’ body, with the message: “God save the King. His majesty Joelinton.”
The Magpies star had a sensational season as they finished third in the Premier League and booked a return to the Champions League.
He scored six goals and got one assist and looked completely transformed under Eddie Howe.
The 26-year-old struggled at the start of his Newcastle career under Steve Bruce.
He was a club-record £40million signing and did not settle at all.
Howe has got the best out of him and even had Rangers legend Ally McCoist marvelling over his transformation.
McCoist told talkSPORT in April: “I keep asking the boys in the North East, I don’t think I’ve seen a transformation in a player anywhere, at any time, that’s been better than Joelinton.
“I remember going to watch Newcastle and I actually felt sorry for the lad. He was trying but he couldn’t hit a cow on the backside with a banjo!”
